password rules

We'll start with the password, because this is the key to your information's security, and also that of the site in general. The site's password rules follow these guidelines:

Your Password...

  • cannot contain spaces
  • letters (Aa Bb Cc) ARE CaSe sEnsiTIve
  • must be between 8 and 16 characters long, and include at least
    • one UPPERCASE alpha (A - Z)
    • one lowercase alpha (a - z)
    • one numeric (0 - 9)
    • one of the following symbols: ! * & = + @ % $ ^
      (NB - these are the only symbols allowed)

A tip you might find useful is to take an ordinary-ish word, easy to remember, and to replace the ordinary characters with numbers and symbols that look the same. some that work well: "$" for "s/S"; "1" for "i/I"; "0" for "o/O" - etc.
